OF BODY AND LAND
A quiet sense of being held —
in warmth, in light,
close to where I begin
I return to myself.
I learn to see.
I stay with myself.
About the Series
Of Body and Land explores the body as a place of memory, transformation, and belonging. Through self-portraits and images of the landscape where my roots lie, I investigate the profound relationship between identity, body, and land.
Photography becomes a space for listening, self-discovery, and acceptance. It emerges from the need to reconnect with myself during a period of profound transformation, where an identity crisis intertwines with physical change. Within this process, the body is not presented as an object to be observed, but as a place to inhabit again; the land is not a backdrop, but a presence that holds memory, origin, and the possibility of return.
The images arise intuitively from everyday life, driven by the urgency to preserve an inner state rather than the pursuit of technical perfection. Light, composition, and the photographic gesture become ways of giving form to what words cannot express.
Although rooted in a deeply personal experience, Of Body and Land invites viewers to recognise themselves and to embrace their own bodies and stories with renewed awareness. Rather than offering answers, the project opens a space for reflection, where vulnerability can become presence, belonging, and the possibility of beginning again.
